Noting a drawing to reflect CSI® type specifications and checking the drawing for consistency seem to be some of the most demanding and time-consuming work a firm does. SpecNoter is flexible and takes care of the grunt work for you. Without a lot of effort on your part, SpecNoter will organize your notes by category, classification or division, using data tables and styles consistent with industry and government formats such as CSI, CSC®, MASTERSPEC®, AIA®, Tri-Service, NAVFACENGCOM, etc. SpecNoter will even match up with your own company-wide standards or a particular client's format for noting. SpecNoter will actually place the notes on the drawing for you and then produce a report on the notes, the way you want to see it.

SpecNoter helps ensure consistency across workgroups. SpecNoter presents you with a prebuilt library of approved notes. Pick from what's been approved and you won't have to create any notes as you go along. Working off a server, you can even set up access to different note tables for various projects you have in-house, without compromising the projects.

Let's say you find that individuals in a workgroup are making up their own version of notes as they work. Frustrating, but a common practice that managers know only too well. With SpecNoter the CAD manager or project manager can choose to allow these notes simply as provisional at this time, auditing them later for approval before the final run. You can then add other notes to the approved list or change the provisional ones to the approved ones. You'll be able to perform the note audit without being in a drawing session, saving lots of time.

SpecNoter works fast. It references a note's description to a specification number (or other format marker) via a live link for speed. SpecNoter places notes on the drawing for you in one smooth operation, and it will display your notes via a visual highlight if you want to look at the full text. Your drawing won't be bogged down with a lot of squiggly information, yet all the crucial note data are maintained for you. A special bonus utility embedded in SpecNoter handles your revision noting and keynoting in the same smart and easy way. SpecNoter produces note reports from what is included in the drawing, formatted however you want. You won't have to re-enter data just to get the contents out on paper or imported into a spreadsheet, BOM or other program.
